The Real Face Lift
A youthful face has a defined V-shape. When ageing sets in, the face sags and becomes more squarish. This is often known as skin laxity; but the skin is not the only thing that affects sagging and changing contours.

Underlying structures, such as the broad muscles of the neck, cheeks, forehead, and the SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System), also influence the overall appearance of the face. Hence, improving the density and volume of these underlying structures can enhance the ageing face and contour it back to a V-shape.
Muscles and Ageing
Facial muscles connect the tissues and ligaments in the face to hold them together. These muscles – like any other muscle in the body – gradually grow weaker with age and lose their resilience. When the frontalis (forehead) muscles weaken, they are less able to hold the tissues and so the brow droops. When muscles of the cheeks (the zygomatic major and minor) weaken, they expel the deep underlying fats located between the cheekbones and the lower jaw. These fats slide downward, resulting in sunken or hollowed cheeks.
Traditional invasive surgical face lifts tighten the skin without lifting the underlying muscles. There is now an understanding on the importance of lifting the muscles. When the muscles are tightened, they are lifted upwards. This corrects the cheek’s contours, cheekbones and neck.
SMAS and Ageing
The SMAS is a layer of thick tissues connecting the facial skin and deep muscles. Sagging of the subcutaneous fats, muscles and gliding down of the SMAS contribute to facial ageing. The SMAS is essential to the face’s structure as it moves, connects, and creates tension in the soft tissues to support facial expressions and face shape. When it loses strength, the face sags. Lifting it results in a slim and toned face. Conventional skin tightening like topical creams, Botox and fillers are unable to target the SMAS to restore this important layer.
Have a Real Face Lift with Emface
A real face lift is one which treats the skin as well as the underlying structures like the muscles and SMAS. Conventional invasive surgical face lifts do not work on the muscles, which is one of the main reasons for facial ageing. There is now a non-invasive treatment option that can give you a real face lift – Emface.
Emface is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatment that uses a combination of RF and HIFES™ energies to simultaneously affect the facial skin and muscles – targeting the signs of facial ageing. The end result is less wrinkles and more lift naturally without needles – in only 20 minutes! This treatment requires no downtime and produces natural-looking results.
Emface utilises the simultaneous application of synchronised RF and HIFES™ energies. Synchronised RF remodels and smooths the skin by heating the dermis and increasing the levels of collagen (a key component of youthful-looking skin) and elastin fibres. HIFES™ technology restores and elevates support of facial tissues by selectively contracting muscles, and increasing density and quality of muscle structure.
This treatment can be customised to meet the specific needs of each patient. It can target specific areas of the face, such as the forehead, cheeks or jawline, or it can be used to treat the entire face. The intensity of the treatment can also be adjusted based on the patient’s skin type, age, and overall skin health. It is an effective treatment for a variety of facial aging concerns.
